Let It SNOW!

Filed under: General — admin @ 5:15 pm

Just a few pictures from this morning. Not knowing that Caleb would actually play in the snow (see post below), we first took him out in just his pajamas and a hat. He was having so much, so we took him back inside and layered on some clothes. He just loved it!

Thanksgiving and random stuff

For Thanksgiving we went to Robert Lee to visit Chad’s family. Chad was just off on Thursday, so he headed back that same day, and Caleb and I stayed for the weekend. Caleb loves his Weez and Pa. He would stay there forever I am convinced. He really got into playing with the Lego’s and blocks.. We also got to see Justin and Lacy and their new baby, Kinley. She’s precious and so happy, even though she wasn’t feeling well.

On Friday, we head to San Angelo to look around at some stores with no intent of really purchasing anything. The crowds weren’t really that bad. We got to catch up with Lori for a short time as she was headed back to Austin to work a night shift that evening. I sure do miss her!

Chad and I also took Caleb out to see the cows at Chad’s grandfathers place. This is by far the most memorable thing Caleb has ever done. I posted about his first trip doing this over the summer. Caleb has not stopped talking about Daddy D, Mawmaw, Bo (the dog) and of course, the cows. These four subjects are by far the most talked about subjects in Caleb’s little world. He loves it!

The rest of the weekend, we just played and rested. It was nice to just sit and relax for a little bit. Thanks Audrey and Donnie!

Yesterday I was definitely nesting (not so much today), but at least now I have a clean house and bags packed.

Today, Chad called around 8am telling me to look outside. It was snowing!!! WOW! I can’t remember the last time I have seen snow out my own backdoor! I took Caleb outside and he wasn’t too fond of the snow. I think it was too cold. Who know’s, but he wanted to go back inside the whole time, so I didn’t get many pictures.

I also had a doctor’s appointment today. Nothing new. Everything going great so far!

Nothing new. I am 4 weeks away from my due date. I’m getting excited to meet our little boy. Here are a few pictures that Chad took before Caleb and I left for work this morning. Caleb loves wearing hats!

Not much

This past weekend, Audrey and Donnie came down to help with my nesting instinct. They brought Caleb’s new bed (Chad’s bunkbeds that he used from the time he was out of the crib until we got married). Unfortunately we did not get them set up, but we got some other things done (bed in guest room set up). We always enjoy the visit, and Caleb especially loves the time with his Wheez and Pa.* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated ** WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *

5 more weeks to go as of tomorrow. I am getting anxious, but trying to be patients (especially since we are not all the way ready for this little one). My doctor’s appointment today went well. Nothing new. I definitely hit the 30# weight gain mark today. Oh well.

We finally got new phones. If you did not get and email and need our new phones numbers, please comment or email us. It is nice to have my own phone again (what a luxury).

The last 2 weeks

Not much has been going on. We are still debating on phone options after my cell phone died, but for now Chad and I just share his. It really isn’t that bad.

Here are just a few pictures around the house.

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated * Caleb stirring the blueberry muffin batter (he loves to help me cook).

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated * Caleb also loves to set the timer on the camera and pose for a picture. So, here we are!

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated * Chad and Caleb using the timer on the camera. Why does this fascinate him?

We also had a wonderful visit on Wednesday with Stephanie (a friend and roommate from college) and Carson. Carson is almost 2 months old now. He is a sweet boy, and I love his hair. I am thankful Stephanie lives so close, we are definitely hoping to get together more often.

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated ** WPG2 Plugin Not Validated * His hair is always sticking up. He is so cute!

I work this weekend, we get to see the Cozarts (I am really excited…it has been too long), and I guess other than the normal activities that is about it. More pictures of our weekend to come, so check back next week!* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *

Weekend in RL

Filed under: General — admin @ 12:51 pm

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *A few weeks ago our hand me down laptop from Lori died. We had been postponing buying our own Mac for some time now (over a year), but we had no choice this time. Being without a computer for a week was definitely different. I do so much on the computer: pay bills, balance the checkbook, record expenses, keep up with friends and family. Then I dropped my phone in the toilet that same week. I was out of touch for a while. Now we have our new computer (yippee), but we are still working on the phone part. I will have a new number soon, hopefully. We are definitely procrastinators when it comes to this. We research forever trying to find the best fit. I am looking forward to not having to share a phone with Chad, but it really hasn’t been that bad.

A few weekends ago we went to Robert Lee for Chad’s grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary. Their 4 daughters planned a lunch in honor of them. We had a great time catching up with family. Unfortunately Chad was working, but Caleb and I always enjoy going to Wheez and Pa’s house.

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated * Caleb loves stacking things!

The baby is doing good. I am now to the 2 week doctor appointment stage (I will be 33 weeks on Wednesday). Just 7 more weeks. I can’t believe it. Our little one definitely is a mover. Hopefully his late nights now don’t translate to late nights in a few months. I am definitely ready to have everything organized and set for our new baby. Time is going by too fast.

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated * A little over 31 weeks (in this picture).

Potty training for Caleb is still going okay. Some days are definitely worse than other, but today we are off to a good start.

Chad still loves his job, and works a lot. I am thankful that he always has off on Sunday’s. My patient load has decreased dramatically, but I’m sure it is what I need right now.

We have skype now. It has been fun to talk to friends and family. If you have an account let us know, we would love to talk!

I guess that is it.

Have a great week.

Pictures and Potty Training

Filed under: General — admin @ 2:38 pm

Since I haven’t posted any…here are some pictures of baby boy #2 in my growing belly. No definite name yet. My head is cut off in 2 out of 3 of these because, well, it just needs to be.

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated ** WPG2 Plugin Not Validated ** WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *

The big thing in our household over the last few days has been potty training Caleb. I will have to say he is doing very well. 1 accident a day for the past 3 days. I say that is not too bad. I do have a question for those more experienced in this area, how did you potty train your child? I did not find much information on the subject. Although he is doing well with the current bare bottom method, he can’t do this forever. Ideas?

Since we stayed at home most of the weekend Caleb and I did a lot of cleaning. He loves to get a towel and clean everything with it. He actually asks to clean (”neen”). This also includes sweeping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming, whatever. He is not that bad either. His favorite it so clean the walls, something I don’t really every do.

Caleb ran into the kitchen from his room really excited, so I followed him into his room to show so he could show me this spectacular building project he had been working on. Not bad for a little guy. He was pretty amazed.

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *

He still loves his reading. He really gets into it.

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *

He also constantly asks to watch bball (ie. football) on TV. I wonder where he gets that from.* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated *

And lastly, Caleb loves to have his picture taken. If he sees the camera, he blinks he eyes (this means, take my picture please). He was fascinated with the timer, so we took some together. Forgive my looks, things get worse at the end of the day.

Have a great rest of the week.

Small update

We have been reading a chapter out of the Bible to Caleb before he goes to bed every night. He really looks forwards to doing this every night (he asks for it). If he happens to find the Bible at other times during the day, he loves reading it to us. He can do this for more than 30 minutes. He loves to read the Bible (he even says Bible pretty well).

After settling into our new home, we have been able to get out more and play at the park (something I did a lot with Caleb in Midland since there was a park walking distance from where we lived). I worked on Monday, and since Chad was off he rode his bike (pulling Caleb along in the bike trailer) to the park at UTPB where they had a picnic lunch and played.

With the help of Debi, we got our living room in order and decorated. Thanks Debi! We love it!

Caleb loves to play in the ottoman’s in front of the loveseat. Yesterday he was eating cheeto’s in one of them. Don’t tell Chad I let him do this (don’t worry he only made a mess on himself).

* WPG2 Plugin Not Validated * This is what he did when I told him to smile.

Chad is working hard and really enjoying it. The pregnancy is going well. I’m liking the cooler weather.

Hope the update wasn’t too blah. Enjoy your week!

28 weeks

Filed under: General — admin @ 1:35 pm

Tomorrow I will be 28 weeks along in this pregnancy. Thankfully, things have been going rather smoothly. In the words of my doctors, “things look perfect.” Praises to our gracious Father! No pregnancy pictures. Maybe I will get Chad to take one soon! My stomach is definitely growing and my weight is increasing more than I would like. I took the glucose test today. Not that bad. Our little boys moves around all the time. I can’t imagine one more active than Caleb, but who knows!

Finally getting settled into the new place. Maybe I will post pictures in the future, once everything gets finished. I love the extra space, garage, outdoor space, and 1 level!!!

Caleb and I went to San Angelo to see my sister. Slade and Laura took engagement pictures for her and Marcus. We stayed in Robert Lee and enjoyed a wonderful weekend of family and friends.

All is well. Thanks for reading!

Provision

Filed under: General — admin @ 1:14 pm

I have been slowly learning about the never-ending and abounding provision of the Lord. He has provided everything I could ever dream or imagine and to top that, his provision is even more abundant than what my puny mind can comprehend.

It is not even always financial (although most everything boils down to money, ie. housing, transportation, food), but God provides a change of heart, a passage in the Bible that I never noticed so boldly before, a greater love for the Father.

This may be confusing or random and scattered, but I am so thankful that the Lord provides for his children. I am in awe, amazed, perplexed (because I sin so much), but truly thankful. So this is written, hoping that someone will rejoice in the Lord and his provision in their life. I certainly rejoice.

Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will to men. Luke 2:14
