Buzz

Caleb and I went to Robert Lee and left Chad in Midland so he could work on some school work.

We got to eat lunch as Sunset Grill in San Angelo with the Cozarts and spend the rest of the time with Donnie and Audrey. We enjoyed the weekend.

Caleb got another hair cut while we were there….he wanted to be like his dad.

Before. Trying to avoid the clippers. Shaggy hair!

Check-up

Caleb had his 15 month check-up on Tuesday.

  • 17.1 pound (<3%)
  • 29.25 inches long (5%)

He is walking like crazy. One of his favorite things to do is go outside and pick up rocks. He is down to 1, 1.5-3 hour nap per day. He still sleeps from 8pm-6am (give or take 30 minutes). No more milk from a bottle=1-2 sips of milk all day long. He refuses to drink it out of a cup. He loves water from cup, but not milk. Hopefully he will come around. He talks (in his own language) all the time, waving his arms around. He really gets into his conversations. I have a feeling his is going to be a talker like Chad. He can still be pretty clingy, mainly when it is time to make supper. He just wants to be held. For the rest of the time he wants independence.

We got to visit with Mary and Steve yesterday! They came to Midland to get some work done on a boat. I love them.  I really enjoyed their visit. We had a fun time chatting.

24172419 I don’t know how I got away with just these pictures. Sorry!

The weekend plans: work for me, work for Chad (he needs to finish his Economics course).

Have a great weekend.

This weekend was a family overload (in a good way though). A surprise 60th wedding anniversary party for Chad Helwig grandparents filled the weekend with wonderful festivities.

We drove down to Miles, Texas Saturday morning and started off the weekend with the initial surprise out a the Helwig Ranch. All of the children, grandchildren, and great-granchildren were present to spend time with Bill and June. The great-grandchildren hunted Easter eggs; mainly Faith and Ben. Caleb was too busy hunting rock (and other things to put in his mouth). We got to visit with lots of family that we don’t get to see all the time, and we had some gun shooting in there as well.

That evening we all gathered at Zentner’s daughter for a wonderful dinner and celebration of Bill and June’s anniversary. Sunday morning we attended their church and then followed it up with lunch as Los Carlos in Miles.

As we headed back to Midland on Sunday afternoon, we stopped in Robert Lee to say hi to Chad’s other grandparents. We ended up visiting long enough to catch Audrey and Donnie as the got home from Lubbock. Donnie’s daughter Amy gave birth to Logan the previous Tuesday, so the went to see the new baby in the family.

We finally headed back to to Midland after a long weekend of catching up and enjoying the company of family. We even took some fun pictures in the bluebonnets!

Riding Bikes

Before we had Caleb, Chad and I really enjoyed riding bikes around San Angelo. We especially enjoyed the company of Slade and Laura who often rode along with us. Of course, with a baby/toddler it is not as easy. After getting a tune-up for our bikes (Chad is hoping to ride in the MS150 race at the end of the summer), I spotted a used trailer for sale. It has been fun!

We also love to lounge (or swing in Caleb’s case) on this comfortable hammock. I love the spring/summer. Warm weather is great.

Caleb was practicing his egg hunting skills at the library today. We go to the lap-sit story time every week. He loves it.

I guess that is it for now. Have a great weekend.

Scripture

Just parts of Ezekial I was reading this morning.

Ezekial 33:1-6

1The word of the Lord came to me: 2″Son of man, speak to your people and say to them, If I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the lands take a man from among them, and make him their watchman, 3and if he seees the sword coming upon the land and blow the trumpet and warns the people, 4then if anyone who hears the sounds of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. 5He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life. 6But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniguuity, but his blood I will require at the watchmans’s hand.

Ezekial was the watchman for the house of Israel. He was to warn the people of the coming sword. Does this remind you of anything? We are called to spread the good new of Jesus Christ and along with that goes judgement of sin and death. We are in a sense watchman for our neighbors, family, friends, strangers. I am not saying that their blod with be on our hands if we do not warn them, but what a sense or urgncy and need to spread the word of Christ to this word this passage creates.

I hope that made sense.

Another part of Ezekial. God was going to bless the house of Israel. This is why He said He was going to bless them.

Ezekial 36:22

22″Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: Is is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. 23And I will vindicated the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nation will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when through you I vindicated my holiness before their eyes.”

WOW. This is a great reminder of God working not because of our actions, but because of his holiness.
