The past month

Well it has been a busy and whirlwind of a month. We went to Robert Lee for 3 weekends in a row, 2 of them to annouce football games, and one to watch August’s football game in Bronte. On the last time in Robert Lee, we only stayed through Saturday afternoon, followed by a trip to Lubbock. Chad was able to go to a Tech game with his friend Jared (not necessarily his favorite team to watch, but he had good company). While in Lubbock we stayed with Chad and Jodee. It was a blast hanging out with them. I also convinced Chad to take me to Sheridan’s. twice. It has the yummiest frozen custard I have ever tasted. I love ice cream, but this is better. I was told by an employee on a previous visit, that frozen custard freezes at a lower temperature than ice cream, therefore you can taste more of the flavor of the dessert because it is not freezing! I love it.

Here is Caleb supporting the Robert Lee Steers (my attempt at making him a shirt).

We also got to visit with extended family in Robert Lee.

Here is a picture of Caleb and Mawmaw.

I have been super busy at work the past two weeks. I have 5 patients that I am seeing 3 times a weeks. The Lord is providing exactly what we needed. He always does.

I enjoyed another ladies bible study at the church we have been attending. Great fellowship with these ladies. We have been going though Created to be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl. It has been insightful.

Chad is loving his job. Continuing on in his accounting class and continuing to debate further educational pursuits.

Caleb talks all the time. He is everywhere. He loves to do what he is not allowed to do.

We are headed to Ruidoso for Thanksgiving. Maybe Caleb will get to see his first snow. We are looking forward to the time away to enjoy family.

Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday next week. We have much to be thankful for.

I can’t believe it. Here are some pictures and some Caleb updates. More family updates to come soon.

  • Caleb has 2 teeth now.

  • He will eat anything you give him. He especially loves to feed himself.
  • He weighs about 15 pounds.
  • He still wears clothes in the 3-9 month range.
  • He takes two naps a day (morning and afternoon).
  • He likes to go the library for story time (and some singing).
  • He likes to look at books. It is usually his first choice of things to play with.
  • He loves to play in the water.

  • Bedtime at 8pm, wake up at 6am (give or take).
  • He will push his chair and walk on his own.
  • He hates to have socks on his feet and a hat on his head.
  • He smiles all the time.
  • He is learning to clap, wave, and sign “more”.
  • He likes to put leaves, grass, dirt, bugs, and anything else in his mouth.
  • He gets the biggest smile when Chad comes home.
  • He loves to rough house with his dad. He does not like to give hugs to his mom.
  • After supper, he loves to sit in Chad’s lap and watch music videos on the internet (ie. Pecos Bill).
  • He likes to dance to music.
  • He loves to inspect teetch and mouths; maybe he will be a dentist.

  • He shakes his head in response to most questions when he is eating. It means “yes” most of the time.
  • Things that are not allowed, but he desparately wishes they were: pulling the toilet paper off the roll (to eat), crawling up the stairs, playing with electrical cords, standing on the fireplace hearth, and pulling books off the shelves.
  • Caleb is very ticklish.

Graceful

Caleb has been perfecting this over the last month. I finally got it recorded. He is always so graceful. Click here to see a video of him getting off the couch.
