The Voice of the Robert Lee Steers Part 2
Well, Chad is at it again. Another good thing about living in Midland is being closer to Robert Lee. Chad is able to annouce the home football games again this year. We went for another trip last weekend to do just that. It was homecoming and Robert Lee won! YEA! We also had a chance to see Joel and Robin, eat some yummy burritos (with homemade tortillas) at Joel’s parents new shop, and celebrate Audrey’s birthday. I enjoyed the weekend (minus Caleb waking up every few hours..hungry or something). You are right Shaunna, it is ongoing. Some nights/days are better than others.
Donnie’s foot is getting better, but still swollen, red and painful. Continue to pray for him.
I also saw my first patient here in Midland. God’s timing was impeccable (isn’t it always). I am so thankful for the opportunity to work 8-10 hours a week and bring Caleb with me. It is truly a blessing.
We took Caleb to the doctor last week for an 8 month checkup (that is not a normal one, but we missed the 6 month because we could not get in anywhere, so the soonest we could get in was at 8 months). He got four shots…and definitely let us know the next day. He is 13.9 pounds (<3 percentile) in weight, and 26.5 inches in height (3rd percentile). But he is healthy and proportional, so the doctor was not concerned at all.
By the way, I was in line to get gas at Wal-mart. I waited for 5 minutes while a lady was washing her car with the windshield squeegee. She was washing her whole car, scrubbing and scrubbing at the bird droppings on the hood of her car. Did she realize that lines of people were waiting while she was washing her car, and not even getting gas? Luckily another stall opened and I pulled in. She finished after I filled up. I hope her car is clean!
We have also enjoyed the wonderful weather. Picnic lunches in the park with Chad are great. Caleb is still not too keen on grass, but he liked looking at the ducks.
Have a great weekend.
