Nap Time
My dad came by last week and hung out for a while. We love visitors!

We had a chance to visit with my sister, Sara, this past Sunday. When we were growing up Sara and I shared a room until I was a senior in highschool. We fought over Barbies, clothes, and whatever else we felt like when the hormones kicked in. It is nice to be friends, to talk and discuss important things in our lives. I love my sister (I think Caleb loves his aunt too)!

So, Caleb hasn’t been napping well for the past month unless we hold him (like Sara is in the picture up) for the whole nap time and keep the pacifier in. He has really started to use his hands and take his pacifier out of his mouth, or he tries to suck on his hands/fingers (whatever he can get in there) and his pacifier at the same time. So for the past 2-3 days I have been letting soothe himself to sleep (I would never get anything done if I played with him when he is awake and held him while he was sleeping). This is what I found when I went in to get him from his nap.

Three fingers in his mouth with a thumb and pinkie on either side to make sure those fingers stay in there. What a silly boy. We love him!
Some good mom references I have read/listened to recently are Moms on Call. They were on family life radio broadcast a couple of times and they have a book out. It is a helpful and quick read. It can be found here. They method has helped Caleb sleep through the night (the first night we tried it he slept at least 10 hours…although I think it might have been 11) .
We also tried cereal today. It was a mess, but he did good other than wanting to eat the cereal and his hands at the same time.
