For those of you who haven’t heard, Caleb Walker Helwig was born on Sunday, January 13, 2008. I went into labor at 3:00am that morning, my water broke at 8am, and he arrived at 7:46pm that evening. It was as smooth as labor and delivery can be. We are so excited that he is finally here!! We love him so much, it is incredible!
My dad, my sister and her boyfriend, and Chad’s mom were able to make it in time. It was so great having them there at the hospital! Chad’s mom stayed with us the first few days while we were still in the hospital. We went home on Tuesday afternoon and have been slowing adjusting to new life with Caleb. It has actually been quite easy! My mom arrived in town on Tuesday and will be staying to help me for a few weeks. Both the baby and I are healthy and doing better each day. Caleb is slightly jaundice, but improving!

Well, tomorrow is the official due date for the birth of our first child. No contractions yet, 1 cm dilated, and waiting!!! He will probably arrive after that date, but we wait expectantly for his birth. My belly sure has grown!

On Christmas, my dad and sister drove to San Antonio to visit (we weren’t sure about driving anywhere so close to the due date) and brought a BIG surprise! My brother is back from Iraq. What a relief…we really enjoyed visiting with them, but I forgot to take pictures!!!!
Amy came to visit and we took her to this little Mexican restaurant in Helotes. Good food and great company.

We had the privilege of enjoying the Alamo Bowl with Sylas, Shea, Ryan and Sarah two weeks ago. It was fun, and I only got up two times, not bad. It was good to visit with everyone! Thanks Silas!

This past weekend Audrey and Donnie came to visit. Another trip to the Cheesecake factory! We love to visit with family; it is always so much fun. I think they were hoping our little one would arrive, no such luck.

The girls at work threw a baby shower for us. I have only worked there for 2 1/2 months….it was very sweet of them to be so thoughtful! They are a great group of therapists! I am blessed to have such a flexible job.
