About 20 weeks along and some exciting news…

Now I am afraid that Chad has won, he is already calling our baby CJ (for Chad Jr.). Hopefully we can compromise on another name.

We sold Chad’s truck about a month ago and just this week we have purchased a “new” vehicle, a 2001 Toyota Echo. We really like it so far. We needed something better on gas for Chad to use for work and something roomy enough for a baby (a single cab pickup wasn’t going to work). Chad rented a car, picked up Jacob Birdwell and Mrs. Risse (sorry, Vivian) and drove many, many hours to a city near Tulsa, OK to get the car. We searched a 500 mile radius from San Angelo for this car; seven vehicles were available and the number was dwindling each day. Thank you both for accompanying Chad on this long trip. We appreciate it.

One more thing. I love my husband for many things, but one reason has been strongly evident over this past week as we discuss the future. He has a great desire to provide for me and the baby. To that end, he is more than willing to trade in a possible $43/hour job for me if I were to work (when we move to San Antonio) and get a second job instead so I can stay home with the baby. He is wonderful!

Help Wanted

Filed under: General — admin @ 7:49 pm

I am nearing 19 weeks pregnant and everything is going well. We will have the next sonogram at the end of August. We are going to let the gender of the baby be a surprise and we haven’t yet agreed on a name. Chad continues to be insistent upon Chad Walker Helwig II (deuce) for a boy, and Chadweena for a girl. Please help. We need BETTER suggestions!

Chad and I have been learning to be hosts to recent guests in our home. My sister came to visit 2 weekends ago. It was so good to spend some time with her, it has been too long. We went to the San Angelo Colt’s minor league baseball game followed by a trip to Coldstone for some yummy ice cream. We also shopped a little bit for some fun maternity clothes. Spending time with family is so relaxing and fun!

This past weekend my friends Beth and Lori came to visit. We visited Franco’s for some good Mexican food, had lunch with Kristi and Jenny at Outback, visited some shops downtown on Conch St., went to get ice cream at Marble Slab and rented a movie. It has been a long time since I’ve had the opportunity to spend such a long time with girls! We enjoyed catching up and sharing plenty of laughs.
